Various EY Internship Opportunities

EY is one of the Big 4 accounting firms and has two large consulting arms.

EY-Parthenon

EY-Parthenon is its strategy consulting practice. It competes with McKinsey, Bain, and BCG on projects focused on strategy, marketing, organization, operations, transformations, and mergers & acquisitions.

The Associate Program is EY’s strategy consulting internship program, and there are 3 tracks:

  1. Generalist: Interns on the generalist track work on strategy projects in any industry.
  2. Software Strategy Group: This specialized consulting track serves clients in technology and private equity investing. Examples of projects include M&A due diligence, competitive strategy, and growth strategy.
  3. Emerging Leaders Program: This is an 8-week internship for undergraduate sophomores. It’s open to all, but students who self-identify as Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic, Native American, or multi-racial are strongly encouraged to apply.

EY Advisory Services

The second consulting arm is EY Advisory Services, which does projects more focused on implementation, including performance optimization, technology implementation, and risk transformation.

Other Student Programs

EY also has other student programs to help you develop your skills. Learn more about Expedition EY, a gamified online course with a personalized approach to skill-building and career development.

Benefits of Doing the EY Internship

An EY internship is a great way to test whether a consulting career is right for you. Consulting firms work hard to ensure interns get a chance to learn about the industry and make better decisions for their future.

Vault has consistently named EY-Parthenon as one of the top 10 consulting internships. Here are 4 compelling reasons to apply for the EY summer leadership program:

  1. Gain hands-on learning experience: At EY, you will have the chance to work on client projects where you will develop strategic work, present to the client, and learn to collaborate with a team.
  2. Expand your network: You will work alongside top students and experienced professionals solving challenging problems. These meaningful connections can open doors for future career opportunities.
  3. Access to global opportunities: EY is one of the largest professional services firms in the world. Joining this EY network could unlock opportunities to work in other geographies, making global connections, or move within the firm to another practice.
  4. Land a full-time job offer: Many consulting internships conclude with an offer to join full-time. It’s an excellent perk to return to school knowing you have a post-graduation job.

  2. Interview: If selected, you’ll go through a few rounds of interviews, which are often virtual.
  3. Offer: A decision is usually made within a few weeks of the final interview.
