Overview

We have compiled all of the exclusive insights from our team of McKinsey, Bain, and BCG recruiting experts to provide you with this free, 3-part training series, in which we will help you understand all of the factors that influence the decision to interview a candidate in detail.

What you will learn

Who is this for?

This video training series is for anyone who wants to land an offer in management consulting – whether you are an undergrad, Master’s student, MBA, PhD, or Experienced Hire. We will show you how you can get your foot in the door even if you have a low GPA, have little to no business experience, or study a non-business-related major.

If you have any questions or comments, we take the time to respond to every one, so feel free to use the comment box below.

Learning Path

Taught by Leah Frank, Former Bain & McKinsey Recruiter

Turn your resume from just another generic application document among a stack of thousands to one that will rise to the top of the pile and land you consulting interviews.

You’ll learn:

  • What consulting firms actually look for when screening resumes;
  • What common mistakes to avoid (that get over 50% of candidates rejected); and
  • What to do on your resume with a “low GPA” and “unrelated major”.

Taught by Leah Frank, Former Bain & McKinsey Recruiter

Distinguish yourself from the tons of other candidates applying to Bain, BCG, McKinsey and other top consulting firms this year.

You’ll learn:

  • What a consulting cover letter is;
  • The right way to structure it & tips on how to make it effective; and
  • Red flags that get candidates rejected.

Taught by Leah Frank, Former Bain & McKinsey Recruiter

Use this networking approach! It doesn’t require high time investment or lead to frustration, and has resulted in our clients turning down consulting interviews when they got too many invites.

You’ll learn:

  • How to think about relationship building;
  • The “Olivia Method”;
  • How to network during a pandemic.

  1. Good evening,
    My name is Giulia De Riva. I am an Italian student at the moment studying in the US. At the end of my academic path, I will get both a Master in International Business and a Master in Management. I have just watched your video tutorials and I want to thank you because I found them very helpful.
    I just wanted to ask you a few questions:
    1. Is it possible for a candidate like me (without US citizenship or sponsorship) to get a job for an American MBB firm?
    2. Let’s say that I apply for a position and I do not get an interview. What if I apply again to the same firm? Is it something normal or should I avoid it and do my best to get accepted the first time?

    Thank you very much for your time.
    Sincerely,
    Giulia

    • Hey, Giulia! We’re glad you’ve found MCO’s resources helpful!

      We created a list of consulting firms that sponsor H1B visas last year. It’s here:
      https://www.myconsultingoffer.org/list-top-management-firms/h1b-visa-sponsorship/

      The firms’ policies are constantly updated, so use that as a starting point and check with their recruiting departments. In general, larger firms are more likely to have the resources to support helping employees with visas.

      If you apply for a position and do not get an interview, you can apply again. Most firms ask you to wait 6 months to a year before reapplying.

      We hope this helps! Good luck with the recruiting process.

    • Hi, Hilary!

      I’m sorry you are having trouble watching the “Get the Interview” video series. I just tested it and it’s working fine on my computer, so it might be the browser you’re using. I tested it using Google Chrome and Firefox and those browsers work. Try using a different browser and see if that solves the problem. I hope it does!

      All the best,
      Rebecca

    Please I am making this passionate and special appeals to you to assist me with job offers, once this milestone is achieved, percentage of my first salary will be used to settled the initial cost of the program. Please assist and let me known what you think.

    I could not watched the interview video training series, not responding.

    • Hi, Hilary!

      MCO offers an installment payment plan. We also use a success-based pricing model where clients pay 1/3 of the full upfront cost and only pay the remaining 2/3 when they get a consulting offer. You can find out more about these options by clicking on “Apply to our full training program” and filling out the application form.

  3. We have a list of UK consulting companies that sponsor visas. These are typically for consultants, but they may sponsor visas for HR professionals as well. I would look through those firms first.

    I would also look into understanding the consulting industry by reading articles like this:
    What Is Consulting & What Do Consultants Do?

    Lastly, we have a resources page with a ton of information on the consulting industry. It’s here:

    Best of luck!
