I heard from friends who had been preparing for months and even years for consulting that it took months of prep to be ready and I didn’t have that time.
I was stressed with my timeline, nervous about writing my resume, and not confident I could crack the case interview (my first practice took me 2 hours to solve a “Level 1” case)
I was behind and needed to be resourceful so I cold emailed 40 recruiters from McKinsey, Bain, and Boston Consulting Group to ask them to tell me the secrets such as what they look for in applications, who should I network with, and what were the case interview questions that would come up.
When I somehow got those answers back, I knew what I had to do to get my offer.
And 3 weeks later, I had landed every interview I applied for and received multiple offers, ultimately chose Bain because I chose an office that would allow me to do a lot of education and non-profit work.
At Bain, I ended up working on numerous education and non-profit projects, sat on non-profit boards, and spent my off time working on the recruiting team to recruit the next incoming class of consultants which I loved doing.
I ended up leaving Bain, took a more than 40% salary cut, and joined an education company because it had been my life goal to improve educational opportunities for those around the world (this is why today at My Consulting Offer we donate a large portion of our money to over 30 causes each year).

We suggest upgrading to work with a coach when you are 3-6 months from applying or interviewing for consulting positions.
Working with one of our coaches closer to when you are going to be applying or interviewing is recommended, and this time frame will give you a good amount of time to master everything you need to know to land offers.
Your coaches will also help you plan your timing for your sessions so you can get the most out of our program and time together. If you need help deciding if it is the right time for you to update, you will have a meeting with one of our Enrollment Specialists to discuss what works best for you.
