Hi! I’m Davis Nguyen!

The problem was, recruiting deadlines for consulting were in 3 weeks and I didn’t even know what a “case interview” was yet.

Having heard stories of people who spent 100+ hours casing and preparing for interviews, only to fail to get a job or even an interview, I didn’t want to be another part of the 99% who didn’t make it.

Instead of guessing what firms were looking for, I decided cold email 40 people from McKinsey, 40 from Bain, 40 from BCG, and 40 from other firms to ask them some questions:

“What does your consulting firm look for in a resume?”

“What does your consulting firm look for in a cover letter?”

“What questions were you asked during your first round interviews?”

As people started answering back I knew what I needed to do and how to spend my time.

I knew exactly:

-What each firm looked for on resume screens.

-What each firm looked for on their cover letters.

-Which the most common case interview questions for each firm.

Thanks to the knowledge I had gathered, I was able to efficiently use my 3 weeks to land interviews with every firm he applied to and receive multiple offers.

I had an advantage in this process because he knew which case questions were most likely to come up and prepared accordingly.

It’s this process that sparked the idea for My Consulting Offer.

I eventually signed with Bain & Company because of the people and culture.
